The Soft Season Retreat 2026

The Soft Season is a four-night retreat in the hills of the wild Western Algarve, designed for the woman who is ready to slow down before the world speeds up. Yoga, breathwork, pottery, coastal walks, and every meal cooked for you by a private chef. This is your permission to soften.

Where You'll Be

Burgau

Burgau is a quiet, whitewashed fishing village perched on the cliffs of the Western Algarve, where cobbled streets wind down to a sheltered golden beach and not much has changed in decades. Your home for four nights is a traditional villa tucked into the hills above it all, with sea views, a saltwater pool, and the kind of stillness that makes you wonder why you ever leave.

Getting There

Faro airport is about an hour's drive away. I always recommend Uber, it's easy and affordable, and usually my guests arrange to share a ride together so nobody has to arrive alone.

What's included

Everything you need to fully arrive and fully let go.

  • 4 nights accommodation in a stunning traditional villa in the hills of the wild Western Algarve. Every room has an en suite.

  • Daily brunch and dinner prepared by our private Portuguese chef Levi, using fresh, seasonal and local ingredients.

  • 3 yoga classes, a mix of gentle hatha and restorative, suitable for all levels.

  • Breathwork session to release tension, calm the nervous system, and let go of whatever you've been carrying.

  • Mat Pilates class to strengthen, lengthen, and leave your body feeling worked in the best possible way.

  • Pottery workshop where you'll create three pieces to take home with you, a little piece of Portugal made by your own hands.

  • Coastal walk along the wild Algarve cliffs with a beach afternoon, stopping off in a beautiful Portuguese village along the way.

  • Cookery class with our chef Levi, a hands-on experience creating wholesome, intentional food you can recreate at home.

  • Saltwater pool and hot tub to sink into whenever you need to. Mineral-rich salt water, comforting heat, tight muscles softening, the day melting away.

Frequently Asked Questions

A beautiful private villa in Burgau, on Portugal's wild southwest coast — one of Europe's last truly unspoiled coastlines. Five minutes from the beach, straight out of the garden gate onto the famous Fisherman's Trail, with sea views and the kind of light that makes everything feel golden. Full address is shared upon booking.
Not even a little bit. The yoga here is gentle, slow and completely accessible to all levels. It's designed to help you feel good in your body — not to challenge, achieve or impress.
Fly into Faro — it's just over an hour's drive from the airport. I’ll help you organise a shared transfer with the rest of the group so nobody has to figure it out alone. The retreat starts the moment you land.
Absolutely — most guests do. This is one of the best things about keeping the group so small. You'll arrive as a stranger and leave feeling like you've known these women for years. If you're booking the shared twin room solo, you'll be paired with someone who also chose this, who's ready for this, who gets it.
Everything you need to fully arrive and let go. Four nights accommodation, all meals, gentle yoga, breathwork with Annie, a guided horse ride, the Fisherman's Trail walk, a farmers market visit, beach trips, all transport to and between activities, and a gift bag. The only things not included are flights, your airport transfer, and any personal spending at the market. Oh, and alcohol — not included, but absolutely not frowned upon. Balance is the whole point. 🥂
Five. That's it, that's the answer. Five guests, one host, one house. It's intimate by design — because real rest and real transformation don't happen in a room of thirty.
Layers for the evenings — October in Aljezur is warm but the nights can be cool. Comfortable clothes for yoga and walking, a swimsuit for the pool and beach, good walking shoes or grippy trainers for the trail, and a little cash for the farmers market if you'd like to pick up something special. Everything else is taken care of. I’ll send you a full suggested packing list when you book.
There is a link on the main page to book. A non-refundable deposit of £500 secures your spot, with the remaining balance due 4 weeks before the retreat.
All payments are non-refundable. With only five guests, every spot is essential to the retreat running as it should. We'd strongly encourage you to take out travel insurance to cover yourself for any unexpected changes — it's a small thing that means you can book with complete peace of mind.

Food & Dining

All meals are prepared by your private chef — slow, seasonal, nourishing and made with love. Think long lunches in the garden, dinners around a candlelit table, and breakfasts that you'll actually sit down for. All dietary requirements are catered for, just let me know when you book.
